The 5th Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week was held from October 5 to 14. This year’s fashion week theme is circular fashion and recycling, and Singtex’s S.Café® coffee yarn also received an invitation to provide eco-friendly coffee yarn fabric to designer TRINHBECX. The designer garment was debuted at the Talking Trash event on the 12th.
In the fashion show, TRINHBECX not only utilized coffee yarn fabric but also UMORFIL bionic fiber fabric from Tainan Spinning Co. Ltd., Piñatex® fabric (made from pineapple leaf fibers), and even the buckle of the accessory is made with biodegradable materials. The material used for producing the fashion accessories was provided by Bio-Trimmings, and it consists of mainly recycled food waste.
In a statement made by the Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week, studies have shown that 68% of the consumers want clothing inspired by CSR but do not know where to purchase them, while 60% of them possess little awareness of sustainable fashion. Furthermore, 9 out of 10 Dutch people have absolutely no knowledge of the sustainable labels’ background.
